The text is New King James which is easier to read than that traditional text. The commentary is in the margins on the outer edge. There is no space for personal notes so this is not the note takers Bible. But, it is a great Bible study tool. The commentary and insights are deep and introspective.
Interspersed throughout the chapters are mini-devotionals which can also be found in the individual study books. The mini-devotionals are one to two pages long and contain the same depth as the marginal commentary. The reader doesn't need to go purchase individual Bible studies when reading this Bible. It is all right there. It is a great Bible for the new convert or the mature Christian.
I highly recommend this book and give it 5 stars!
